Towing Bikes with a Quickness

0 bb480By George L. Nitti

Cyclone Motorcycle Transport of Euless, Texas, was formed 12 years ago by Fetch Daniel and her husband, Tom Faoro. They are among few licensed tow companies focused strictly on hauling motorycles and scooters, going as far as 350 miles to bring a bike and rider home.

"My husband went for a ride to Shreveport, Louisiana, with $80 in his pocket," Daniel said recently. "He and his friend ended up winning enough money to buy themselves motorcycles. One year after Tom bought his Harley, it wouldn't run and so we started thinking about a business hauling motorcycles.

"After doing the research," she said, "we realized there was a need, and (it) was motorcycle roadside assistance."

The company logo of a white cyclone, twisting upward, is the defining feature of their 6x12 enclosed black Haul Mark trailer pulled by a 2013 Toyota Tundra.

"My sister and I were brainstorming ideas for a company name and she said, 'Cyclone,' " Daniel said. "We are pretty quick to get where we are going. Also there was a Cyclone motorcycle."

Quickness of service is not their only attribute, as they pride themselves on the entire customer service experience.

"We are different: reliable, upfront, professional, helpful," Daniel said. "Our drivers have been with us for many years, and they truly see the people behind each call. We appreciate the chance to help whenever we can."

The trailer is outfitted with an e-track and a Condor chock.

"We use ratchets with special hooks and soft ties to do a four-point tie-down," Daniel said. "We added cameras inside the trailers to keep an eye on everything while moving. The e-track allows for moving additional chocks for multiple bikes or the straps for different size bikes."

Cyclone provides 24-hour service as well as emergency roadside assistance for services such as gas replacement, a non-starting engine, and even pick-up after a late night out.

"We respect all makes and models ... a bike is a bike," Daniel said. "We don't care what you ride, we care that you ride."
